Jasmine Thompson BIOGRAPHY

Jasmine Thompson (born 8th November 2000) is a singer from central London and is of half English half Chinese descent.

Her acoustic reworking of Chaka Khan’s “Ain’t Nobody” made position 32 on the UK single chart after being featured in an advert for the supermarket chain ‘Sainsbury’s’ for their Sainsbury’s range.

Jasmine’s genres are Pop, Pop-Rock and Indie. As of 2010, the audience numbers have doubled with each video on Youtube and are in 2016 already over 300 million views.

Jasmine announced on May 2015 that she signed to the record label Atlantic Records – four years after her very 1st video on Youtube.

She lives in London.


The year started for us fans with Jasmine’s comeback and her announcement that her new EP ‘colour’ will be released on April the 5th. Her first single ‘loyal’ was released everywhere.

Jasmine took a break from music during this year. She wrote about it on her official website and explained why she needed that break.
But she released some videos on her Youtube channel. One of them was a tribute to Avicii who suddenly died.

2017 started for Jasmine with a performance in Italy at the “Firence 4 Ever” event. Her “Jesus To A Child” cover was a tribute to George Michael who dies just a few days earlier.

Jasmine & we fans loved her tribute so much, that she mad a full cover video at the end of January. Early 2017 experienced Jasmine’s cover of “Mad World” a huge success in France and she made a promotion tour at a lot of radio stations in Paris & an appearance in Lyon.

Right after France, Jasmine travelled to the USA: Her 1st stop was in New York City she, inter alia, made some photoshootings which you can see in the little recap video.

During Jasmine’s time in the US was the 1st song from her new “Wonderland” EP released together with this video. Just a week later – Jasmine was now in LA – was the release of her 2nd song from “Wonderland”, called “Old Friends“. The song was also used in the TV show “Grey’s Anatomy” (Season 13, Episode 21) and reached the UD top 100 iTunes chart just a day after the premiere.

2016 started for Jasmine in March with the supporting tour for Robin Schulz with a lot of venues all over Europe. One of them was in Cologne.

Jasmine made a big promo tour in Russia at the end of March with a lot of live performances at radio stations and TV channels.
In the middle of April was Jasmine in South Africa to promote her “Adore” EP and did beside a lot of performances at radio & TV channels also live performances on big stages with a meet & greet for her fans.

Back home in London made Jasmine a very relaxed Live Q & A on Facebook together with Annie, Ben & Will Gresford.
In the early month of 2016 was Jasmine a lot of times in the studio to write more songs for her upcoming album – which should be released before the end of 2016 – but made also an appearance at “The Voice Of Italy” in May.

In July was Jasmine’s cover of “Mad World” used in the trailer of “American Pastoral” with Ewan McGregor. July the 8th was the release day of her original song “Rise Up“. Jasmine’s fans loved the song that much, that they made a fan lyrics video which you can see here on YouTube.
The Autumn 2016 was a touring time for Jamsine. She performed at the iDays Festival in Italy, Europa Plus in Russia, the “Lichterfest” in Germany and she was also back on tour with Felix Jaehn.

September 11th was the release of the official music video for “Rise Up” which Jasmine produced together with Thomas Jack.
More gigs followed at the end of 2016, like the “Night Of Emotion” in Germany.

The year started for Jasmine with a 3 week trip to the east & west coast of the USA. She did a lot of singing and songwriting sessions there. While Jasmine was in the US, she also recorded a cover of “Thinkin Out Loud” and did a medley from Imagine Dragons songs with Max & Kurt Schneider.
at the end of February was Jasmine together with Robin Schulz back in Paris to perform on two french TV channels: ‘LeMag’ and ‘C á Vous‘. A few days later – back home in London – was Jasmine with Ben Martinez at “The Bedford” and they performed 4 songs live.

On March the 27th attended Jasmine at the “ECHO Awards in Berlin and she performed together with Robin Schulz and other artists a medly of some of Robin’s songs.

The new remix of “Ain’t Nobody (Loves Me Better)” from Felix Jaehn feat. Jasmine Thompson was released in Germany, Austria & Switzerland on April the 3rd and reached after just one day position #4 on the iTunes Dance chart in Germany.
At the beginning of May, Jasmine performed at the NRJ Fashion Night in Zurich / Switzerland. She did an outstanding and breathtaking cover of “Mad World” and performed together with Felix Jaehn “Ain’t Nobody”.

“Ain’t Nobody” reached position #1 in the official single chart from Germany on May the 8th and stayed there for whole 8 weeks! It was Jasmine first #1 at an official chart ever since she started her career.

After almost one year was Jasmine together with Cody Simpson back on a stage. They both performed a “Four, Five Seconds” cover in Camden, London.
In June, Jasmine released her first own single “Adore” together with a video on YouTube. To promote “Adore”, she traveled to 8 cities in Germany and did a great interview on the German morning show – together with an acoustic version of “Adore”. Jasmine was also in countless radio stations during her promo to in Germany.

On September the 20th started Jasmine her supporting tour with Elly Eyre in Germany and in the UK with 10 venues and even got her birday cake ON STAGE. After that tour was a Tour Diary Video from the venues in Germany released on YouTube.

Jasmine had her first own headline show in London on November the 20th. Fromt his show was a great video released: Florence + the Machine – never Let me Go (Cover by Jasmine Thompson – live).
At the end of 2015 flew Jasmine back to the USA for one month to produce & record songs for her upcoming album. She was in New York and also in LA where this Periscope video was filmed to together with Cody Simpson & Adrian Cota. During her time in the US, Jasmine did two more cover songs: “Isaiha” with Corey Harper & a beautiful acoustic version of Chaka Khan’s “Ain’t Nobody“.

Jasmine released her 2nd album “Another Bundle of Tantrums” in April.

During June & July completed Jasmine her 1st UK tour (together with Ben Martinez) as a support act for Cody Simpson on 30th of June with all in all 5 shows over the whole UK.
In September 2014 was Jasmine’s cover of “Everybody Hurts” used in the BBC autumn trailer for East Enders. The trailer showed characters Kat Moon, Sharon Watts and Linda Carter repeating Thompson’s lyrics.

Also in September 2014 Jasmine’s cover of “A Thousand Years” was played in the MTV show “Finding Carter” (Season 1, Episode 11)

On September the 19th 2014 featured Jasmine the song “Sun Goes Down on Robin Schulz’ new album ‘Prayer’ with her vocals, which climbed the German iTunes chart on position number 1 in the first week and reached position 2 in the official German single chart in the first week of November. The remix EP from this song reached number 1 of the official German DJ chart in the middle of November.

On October the 1st had Jasmine a small appearance together with Ben Martinez at ‘The Bedford’ in London.
In the same month was Jasmine’s cover of “Mad World” used for two weeks by the US TV channel FOX to promote their new series “Gracepoint”.
Also in October, Jasmine opened the Giro d’Italia Bike Tour in Milan and sang her cover of “Let Her Go” for the first time live. At the end of October, Jasmine’s version of “Pompeii was used from the british sport channel ‘Sky Sports’ after the football match Liverpool vs Madrid.

At the beginning of November Satoko Miyahara used Jasmine’s cover of “Let Her Go” during her figure skating at the ‘Skate Canada’ event. On November the 13th Jasmine reached 100 million views on her YouTube channel. In the middle of November has Jasmine together with Ben Martinez a gig at “The Roof Gardens” in London. They performed five songs
At the end of November, Jasmine was on promo tour with Robin Schulz in France and had a live appearance on the french TV channels NRJ12 and CANAL+.

Jasmine released her new EP “Take Cover” at December the 9th with 5 songs: “Sun Goes Down (Acoustic)”, “Riptide”, “Stay With Me”, “Chandelier” and “Do You Want To Build A Snowman”. The new EP followed a new music video for “Do You Want To Build A Snowman” on December the 11th.

Jasmine won with her cover song “Let Her Go the 2n place in only 2 from 3 rounds at the BEAT 100 music video chart. This video was so successful that Passenger made it public on their Facebook page

This could be marked as the start of a lot of great things for Jasmine!
